April was a full and rewarding month for Clay, from ribbon cuttings to community cleanups to planning ahead for a great summer. Here are the highlights.

Second Saturday at Cosby Lake¶

We kicked off our first-ever Second Saturday event with a beautification project at Cosby Lake. Volunteers showed up and showed out, and we can't wait for May 11 to continue the service at Cosby Lake Trails.

Welcoming New Businesses¶

It was a pleasure to celebrate ribbon cuttings at three new additions to Clay — The Pines Birmingham, Dollar General, and Mavis Tire. We're grateful for businesses that choose to invest in our community.

Property Maintenance Campaign¶

We officially launched our Property Maintenance Campaign this month. Beautiful neighborhoods reflect a community that takes pride in where it lives — and Clay is exactly that. Contact City Hall at 205-680-1223 for more information.

Clay City Fest — June 27!¶

Out and About¶

This month I joined our seniors for lunch at the senior center, represented Clay with members of the council at the ALM Conference in Montgomery, and had the opportunity to talk about our city on the radio program Mayor’s Week on Discover Alabama.

City Council¶

Two productive council meetings this month kept city business moving forward. As always, meetings are open to the public and we welcome your participation.
