Cosby Lake is one of our community's most beloved destinations. The area features a rental facility perfect for private events, family reunions, birthday parties, and more. Guests can also reserve one of several pavilions for a more casual outdoor gathering, making Cosby Lake an ideal spot for any occasion throughout the year.
Prominently in the geographic center of Clay, the park provides beautiful views, especially in the fall when the colorful leaves on the mountain behind the lake are reflected in the water. A mini-wetland area has attracted beavers and a variety of birds. The Canada geese are often seen feeding on the grass or crossing the street.
Anyone wanting to fish at the lake must get an Alabama Fishing License. Boats are allowed, but the Cosby Lake rules include that no motors, except trolling motors, are allowed on the lake.
Clay offers fantastic recreational options across the city. Our ballpark is utilized by Clay Youth Sports and hosts travel ball tournaments. Our covered and outdoor pickleball courts and disc golf course provide lots of opportunities for friendly competition. Families with young children will find two well-maintained playgrounds ready for adventure and play.
Our community is also home to a Senior Center dedicated to serving the needs of our older residents through programs, activities, and fellowship, as well as a Community Center that serves as a hub for events, meetings, and activities for residents of all ages. And no city is complete without a great library — the W. Alan Summers Municipal Library offers resources, programming, and a welcoming space for learning and connection for the whole family.
We invite you to explore everything Clay has to offer. Our facilities are here for you — because a strong community is built on the places where people come together.
